Congratulations to the eight Karate Alba members who competed at the Emirates Arena, Glasgow for the Scottish Open on the 14th/15th April - the squad did the club very proud!
Special congratulations though to our three medallists:
Thomas Fearns performed with confidence and strength as he won through to the final of the 7-9 years Boys Kata, a well deserved silver medal!
Malahlase Mohato also won silver as she completely blew away the judges and Sensei Ross alike, winning through three rounds with her only three senior kata before performing Heian Nidan in the final of the Female Cadet Kata (14-15 years). An incredible achievement for a yellow belt who has been training for less than 2 years!
In kumite, Cara Petrie fought her way through to the semi-finals of the 7-9 years category before losing out to the eventual winner - earning her a bronze medal!
